What Is Labiaplasty?

The labia minora are crescent-shaped folds of tissue located between the two labia majora. They contain numerous nerve endings and blood vessels, making them highly sensitive to stimulation.

The shape and size of the labia minora vary from woman to woman. However, when the labia minora are asymmetrical, enlarged, or significantly pigmented, it may affect not only aesthetic appearance but, according to scientific study, may also be associated with reduced sexual sensation.

Labiaplasty Q&A

A. It is recommended to avoid irritation or pressure on the surgical area for at least one month after surgery. Sexual intercourse can generally be resumed after 6 weeks.

In addition, avoid strenuous exercise, saunas, excessive stretching, and sitting with your legs crossed for approximately one month after surgery.

A. Rather than using a simple suturing technique that may leave the surgical area uneven, BongBong Plastic Surgery uses a buried suture technique, in which the sutures are placed beneath the skin. Although absorbable sutures are used, the sutures are removed after approximately 10–14 days to minimize visible suture marks. Over time, scarring and other visible signs of surgery are generally minimal.

A. When excess or sagging tissue is removed, some of the small nerve endings at the edges of the tissue may also be affected.
