Precautions After
Renuvion Treatment
- Activity restrictions: Rest completely for the first 12–24 hours after treatment. Limit yourself to light daily activities for two to three days, then gradually resume normal activities depending on your recovery.
- Exercise: Avoid strenuous exercise and heavy lifting for at least one to two weeks after treatment. This restriction may last longer if treatment was combined with liposuction. Light walking is encouraged to promote circulation, but avoid excessive activity.
- Expected symptoms: Mild to moderate swelling, bruising, and pain may occur in the treated area for one to two weeks and should gradually improve.
- Air beneath the skin: You may feel as though gas is trapped beneath the skin (subcutaneous emphysema). This is an expected occurrence and usually resolves within two to three days. Contact your doctor if you have any concerns.
- Cold and heat packs: Do not apply ice packs or heat packs directly to the treated area during the initial recovery period.
- After neck treatment: When sleeping, keep your upper body elevated approximately 30 degrees. Use a neck pillow or a rolled towel to support your neck and keep it extended.
- Drainage and wound care: Fluid may drain from the incisions. Change the gauze or dressings every four to six hours until drainage stops, usually within 24–72 hours. Keep the incisions clean and dry. Avoid baths and soaking, including half-body baths, until the wounds have fully healed. When washing, use lukewarm water and mild soap.
- Compression garments: Compression garments help reduce swelling and maintain treatment results. If recommended, wear them exactly as instructed by your doctor. Contact the clinic if the garment does not fit properly or causes discomfort.
- Diet and hydration: Eat as usual and drink plenty of fluids to prevent dehydration. Smoking and alcohol may delay recovery.
- Massage: Massage the treated area only if specifically instructed by your doctor.
- Sun protection: The treated area may be sensitive to ultraviolet light. Avoid direct sunlight until it has fully healed, and apply sunscreen as instructed when needed.
- When to contact the clinic immediately: Contact the clinic immediately if you experience difficulty breathing, severe redness, unusual bleeding, rapidly worsening pain or swelling, warmth in the treated area, or a fever of approximately 38.3°C (101°F) or higher.
- Medication: Take all prescribed medications exactly as directed by your doctor.
Complications such as bleeding, infection, and inflammation may occur after surgery, and individual satisfaction with the results may vary. Please consult your doctor.
