Alcohol and smoking: Avoid alcohol and smoking for at least one month after surgery, as they can delay wound healing and cause inflammation.
Exercise and activities: Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas, excessive stretching, and sitting with your legs crossed for one month.
Clothing after labiaplasty: If your procedure involves the labia minora, avoid tight clothing, including stockings and underwear with elaborate embellishments, for one month.
Sexual activity: You may resume sexual intercourse four weeks after surgery.
Showering and bathing: You may shower starting the day after surgery. However, avoid directing the shower spray at the perineal area, using a bidet, or soaking in a bathtub for one month.
Sitz baths: Sitz baths help disinfect the external genital area at home. Begin the day after surgery.
Sitz bath preparation: After showering, fill a basin with enough lukewarm water to cover your buttocks. Add 30 mL of Gyno-Betadine solution for every 1 liter of water. Never use hot water.
Sitz bath frequency and duration: Take a sitz bath three times a day for one month, for approximately 10 minutes each time.
Drying after a sitz bath: Rinse gently with clean water, then dry with a towel or a hair dryer on the cool setting.
Skin irritation: If you experience skin irritation during a sitz bath, use half the amount of Gyno-Betadine solution with the same amount of water.
Complications such as bleeding, infection, and inflammation may occur after surgery, and individual satisfaction with the results may vary. Please consult your doctor.
